Musical Director
As he begins his 17th year as Musical Director, Keith Dixon holds the distinction of having the longest tenure in the 47-year history of the Bay Area Chorus. He has conducted the BAC in performances of major works by Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Durufle, Faure, Vivaldi, Schubert and Bach. Tours with the BAC have included Ireland, Scotland, England and the Yucatan Peninsula.
An active clinician for workshops, festivals and honor choirs, Keith Dixon has served on the choral faculty of the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute of Quartz Mountain since 2006. Kingwood High School Choirs under his direction have appeared in honor choir concerts at four Texas Music Educators Association state conventions and at four American Classic Madrigal Festivals and he has prepared them for performances with such notable conductors as Moses Hogan, Robert Sund, Maria Guinand and Craig Jessop. His own choral singing participation has been with the Houston Symphony Chorus, Concert Chorale of Houston and the acclaimed Robert Shaw Festival Singers, with whom he recorded the Telarc releases Amazing Grace, Evocation of the Spirit and Appear and Inspire. Mr. Dixon is presently the choral director at Klein High School.
